The field 'date of notification' is not correct

If you get the following error message: 'Error:  the field 'date of notification' is not correct' you should try again using a Windows PC or an Android device with either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.

If you use iOS no matter the browser or Windows with Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge, DGT's website won't read the notification date properly.

Update August 2020: important information if you are trying to pay from the US or from Canada.

  1. I tried 4 different browsers, including Chromecast and Firefox, no luck. I tried every date imaginable going back the last 3 months, no luck. I tried typing the dates and entering the dates through the calendar, no luck. I tried using a different computer with all of the aforementioned, no luck.I tried calling Spain and waited on hold for 40 minutes, no luck. I'm at a complete loss as to how to make this payment.

  2. have you figured it out...I am having the same problem

  3. I am having the same issue as well. Is there any way to contact support at dgt.es for this problem? Too costly to wire funds and how would you get the 50% discount?

  4. I read in another forum that due to government disputes, the system blocks payments made from the US. Someone got on the phone with DGT and they suggested a wire transfer. The discount applies if you pay within 20 days.

  5. I just found in another site that if you change the time zone it will work. I changed mine to spain time zone and it worked. Look for how to change the UTC. Good Luck. What a mess!!

    3. This is still an issue and changing the UTC was the answer. Thank you. For those with the same issue, you can change you time/date in the settings function (people usually default to auto, so you can change that and find the proper time zone for Spain(Madrid). The notification date is listed with the stamp, near the bottom of the infraction. It seems similar to the initial #s under the bar code. Good luck and thanks to those before me who figured this out!

  7. I confirm this is still the way to do this... terrible interface. VPN to Spain is insufficient, you really have to change your timezone to match Spain's.

  20. Wow, friggin lifesaver. I was trying to help my parents with their ticket and kept getting the date error. Changing the time zone on my computer fixed everything. THANK YOU.

  21. Thank you! Changing the time zone worked for me too. This was ridiculous. If they want you to pay, they should make it easier. Changing the VPN to Spain doesn't even work. Time zone is key!! Someone also mentioned that their credit card didn't work. Mine didn't at first either. I had to get a code from my credit card company. They were the ones blocking it and causing the error code. They said it wasn't a "trusted" website and it flagged as fraud. I had this problem a lot while in Spain, so I thought to check...even though I notified them that I was in Spain for a month!

  37. I provided feedback using their feedback form at the end of the payment process. I am curious how long it will take to fix the application..... I lot of work for 14km over the speed limit :) BTW, I read that 7km over the speed limit is the most you can do without consequences... Good luck!
