The field 'date of notification' is not correct
If you get the following error message: 'Error: the field 'date of notification' is not correct' you should try again using a Windows PC or an Android device with either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
If you use iOS no matter the browser or Windows with Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge, DGT's website won't read the notification date properly.
I tried 4 different browsers, including Chromecast and Firefox, no luck. I tried every date imaginable going back the last 3 months, no luck. I tried typing the dates and entering the dates through the calendar, no luck. I tried using a different computer with all of the aforementioned, no luck.I tried calling Spain and waited on hold for 40 minutes, no luck. I'm at a complete loss as to how to make this payment.
I am having the same issue as well. Is there any way to contact support at dgt.es for this problem? Too costly to wire funds and how would you get the 50% discount?
I read in another forum that due to government disputes, the system blocks payments made from the US. Someone got on the phone with DGT and they suggested a wire transfer. The discount applies if you pay within 20 days.
I just found in another site that if you change the time zone it will work. I changed mine to spain time zone and it worked. Look for how to change the UTC. Good Luck. What a mess!!
This is still an issue and changing the UTC was the answer. Thank you. For those with the same issue, you can change you time/date in the settings function (people usually default to auto, so you can change that and find the proper time zone for Spain(Madrid). The notification date is listed with the stamp, near the bottom of the infraction. It seems similar to the initial #s under the bar code. Good luck and thanks to those before me who figured this out!
So happy I found this online. Geez...been trying everything for days but would never have tried this. The DGT website should post this....huge shout out to whoever discovered this....yay!
Thank you for posting this. I never would have figured this out on my own. I tried every browser and date configuration. Your post was a simple fix and it worked. Even got the reduced rate. Thank you.
Thank you! I found the date of notification and changed my time zone and it worked! It was driving me crazy and would never have figured it out on my own!
I confirm this is still the way to do this... terrible interface. VPN to Spain is insufficient, you really have to change your timezone to match Spain's.
Thank you so much once I changed the time zone on my computer it worked, I couldn't find Spain so I put Cairo lol but it worked, the date of the notification was the date I received it in the mail just fyi
My husband got a ticket while traveling for work and I kept getting the error message on the notification date, it worked after I changed the time zone thanks for the tip!!
I changed time zone but then it wouldn't let me pay with any type of credit (amex/visa) or debit card. Any suggestions??? Here is the error message: "Error, it was not possible to conduct the operation"
still works. thank you. leaving the comment to keep this page's high PR in Google result. software engineer who did this payment system should be fired
Wow, friggin lifesaver. I was trying to help my parents with their ticket and kept getting the date error. Changing the time zone on my computer fixed everything. THANK YOU.
Thank you! Changing the time zone worked for me too. This was ridiculous. If they want you to pay, they should make it easier. Changing the VPN to Spain doesn't even work. Time zone is key!! Someone also mentioned that their credit card didn't work. Mine didn't at first either. I had to get a code from my credit card company. They were the ones blocking it and causing the error code. They said it wasn't a "trusted" website and it flagged as fraud. I had this problem a lot while in Spain, so I thought to check...even though I notified them that I was in Spain for a month!
Wow. What an amazing work around. I buy and order things in Europe all the time and have never experienced an obstacle like this before. I was going mad and this time zone trick worked wonders; I even got the 50% discount despite being way late. 1000 Thanks!!! - Martin
Success too after all night trying...thanks to all... don't ever let anyone bad talk the USA and its people (I could throw the women in there as well)...(wondering how many western women is in this thread trying to figure this out)...it is people like you all that is this country...have spent time in Spain and all over Europe and over there they just throw their hands in the air and go for coffee...USA!...thank you...keep grinding and thinking...
I provided feedback using their feedback form at the end of the payment process. I am curious how long it will take to fix the application..... I lot of work for 14km over the speed limit :) BTW, I read that 7km over the speed limit is the most you can do without consequences... Good luck!

ReplyDeleteIt still works to change the time zone. Thank you to the original genius! (UTC+1 on my laptop.)
ReplyDeleteSuccess for me too when I changed the time zone
DeleteTook me a while to figure out but do not use 0 in the date, for example instead of 23/01/2023, put 23/1/2023. It worked for me finally!

ReplyDeleteChanging time zone worked for me, too. Thanks for sharing. Shame on DGT of Spain for the IT failure and allowing it to go for so many years.
